Luxor 3 is the third incarnation of a popular Zuma style puzzle video game designed with an Egyptian theme. In Luxor 3, the player shoots colored balls out of the bottom of the screen to match balls following tracks designed to look like Egyptian ruins. The game's design is a familiar take on a very popular puzzling formula put together with slick graphics and an array of interesting power-ups and options designed to keep things fresh.

Luxor 3 offers players three different play modes including a story option that offers an Egyptian themed story, a puzzle option that limits the amount of balls the player is given to shoot, and a free play option that allows the player to re-visit completed levels and play again. There are achievements to earn and statistics to follow as well as coins to gather for power-ups and mini-games to play for variety. Luxor's third showing offers players many new levels to play through with imaginative obstacles and a few new mechanics to shake things up.

Luxor 3 presents an attractive package that offers familiar action with a slick design. The graphics are smooth and well polished, and the gameplay is solid and carefully thought out. Players who enjoyed either Zuma or Luxor's previous two games will get the most out of this game's well designed updates, though new players should enjoy the formula as well.

  • Familiar puzzling system with a Zuma-like feel.
  • Updated graphics provide a great new look.
  • 150 levels offer hours of play with a fresh look and design.
  • Achievement system plus the tracking of statistics create new gaming goals.
  • Three modes allow for different ways to play the game.
  • Mini-games add to the action.

  • Luxor 3 does not add anything particularly new to the puzzle game genre.
  • The story mode seems unnecessary.
  • The game is so familiar that some players may find it boring.
